The 45th ANNUAL FAIRFAX FESTIVAL

June 8th & 9th, 2024

https://fairfaxfestival.com/

All of Fairfax seems to participate in the Festival, and the after-party goes well into the night at our local venues.

The Fairfax Festival embodies the values that are dear to all Marinites: community, family, social responsibility, sustainability and, of course, a great party.

It kicks off with a traditional Family Film Night in the Ballfield on Friday night. Come back for the parade at 10 AM on Saturday, then enjoy two days of celebrating the good things in life and in Fairfax.

Come hear great local music at three stages, shop for crafts and flea market treasures, enjoy fresh, wholesome food, beer, organic wine tasting, entertain the kids in our expanded children’s area, and ponder social and environmental issues at the Ecofest. Once again we will have US PureWater filtered water stands so you can refill your water containers.

The Festival offers something for everyone who attends. The Festival is put on by a volunteers group of your friends and neighbors. We take special pride in being a 100% volunteer group (no outside promoter needed). So come enjoy our hometown event, and be sure to support your local craftspeople, artists, flea marketers, breweries, and food purveyors.

The Mountain Play began as a unique annual rite of spring in 1913, by gathering people together on Mount Tamalpais to share the magic of live theatre and the glorious environment. Storytelling, whether an ancient Greek play or a brand new Broadway musical smash, is the foundation of the Mountain Play – our bedrock. Bringing musical theatre to brand new heights, the Mountain Play is an all-day outdoor experience that is unlike any other theatre.

Marin County Fair

July 3-7

https://marinfair.org/

The award-winning Marin County Fair is the County’s premier community event with over 120,000 attendees annually. Marin County, just north of San Francisco, is rich in creativity, nature, and community. Frank Lloyd Wright described Marin County as “one of the most beautiful landscapes” he had ever seen, with green rolling hills providing the perfect backdrop for a county fair.

The Marin County Fair is produced by the Marin County Department of Cultural Services in partnership with the Marin Cultural Association.

Celebrated as the Healthiest and Greenest County Fair on Earth since 2008, the Marin County Fair proudly features a solar powered carousel, solar powered stage, and a 92% waste diversion rate. The Fair offers fresh and healthy food choices, alcohol-free sponsorships, and a smoke-free environment for the enjoyment of all.

The Marin County Fair inspires through traditional values — Art. Agriculture. Community.

Held annually over the 4th of July holiday, fairgoers enjoy five days of art, rides, concerts, fair food delights, shopping and so much more.
